1Η φυλή Mentawai αριθμεί περίπου 64.000 μέλη, κατοικεί στην δυτική Σουμάτρα, στην Ινδονησία. 

Διατηρούν για αρκετές δεκαετίες τον δικό τους παραδοσιακό τρόπο ζωής, ξεχωρίζουν για τα τατουάζ στο κορμί τους, ενώ άξιο αναφοράς είναι το γεγονός πως τα σπίτια του κοσμούν τα κρανία των θηραμάτων τους στο κυνήγι.
